Get the most fun out of your bike! At Mobile Bike Works Santa Fe, I’m always happy to explain what’s going on mechanically. For folks who aspire to do more of their own bike maintenance—from feeling confident fixing a flat all the way up to building a wheel—I offer informative and friendly group and solo instruction to help you attain and build your mechanical skills.

Maybe you’re good at fixing flats and adjusting your shifting, but want to know how to bleed your brakes with confidence. Could be you’re new to cycling and want to know all the basics that will help you enjoy the sport. All the components on a bike are connected in some fashion, so we can start with whatever you’re most interested in learning and let those questions guide which areas of the bike to focus on. In most cases you’ll be able to have your own bike on hand, so you can quickly apply what you’re learning.

All classes include take-home bike maintenance packet for later reference. There is a 2-hour minimum per class, a good length for an introductory class focused on basic maintenance and flat repair. If you’re wanting to get more in-depth, a longer or additional session is a good option.

If you’re interested in booking a class, call or email and and I’d be happy to set something up for you.

“Two friends and I asked Todd to do a Covid-friendly bike repair class in my carport. What a blast! Todd brought tools and supplies to teach us the basics of chain and tire repair and general maintenance, and gave us really great tips. He also showed up with a printout of what we should have in our personal repair kits with suggestions for the make and model of the various tools—really helpful! The beauty of the private class was that we had enough time for each of us to ask all our questions, and Todd gave us very detailed direction. All three of us feel much more confident going out on long backcountry rides knowing we can now put ourselves back on the trail if a chain breaks or a tire punctures. One of us got a flat two days after the class—the tire gods were testing her!”
