Expertise on Wheels

At Mobile Bike Works, I strive to get your bicycle riding as well as it possibly can.  In fifteen years working as a mechanic, I’ve performed service on all manner of bikes: from restorations of vintage Italian classics, complete suspension service on the latest mountain bikes, battered commuter bikes that need nursing along, to basic flat repairs on kids’ bikes, there aren’t a whole lot of repair scenarios that I haven’t seen.  If you give Mobile Bike Works a call, I’ll listen to you as you describe the issues you are having, and ask a few questions to best anticipate what, if any, special parts might be required.  Sometimes I might ask for a photo or two of the bike.  I’ll then do my best to find an appointment time that’s convenient for you.

If you book an appointment, know that you’ll have the option of sticking around and seeing what’s going on repair-wise.  I enjoy working on bikes as well as showing people how to do their own repairs; in most situations, I’m able to explain what I’m doing while I’m doing it and answer any questions you might have.  If you’re curious how to tell if your disc brake pads need replacement, I’m happy to show you.  Is your suspension feeling a little harsh these days, not working like it once did? I can assess it and let you know what services are needed to get it back to doing what it should.  Feeling like you have perennial flat tire trouble? I can investigate and recommend good ways to keep the air in your tires and you on the bike—pedaling, and not cursing the spiky New Mexican flora that found its way through your tire.

Fifteen years of professional bicycle mechanic experience means that I am comfortable working on today’s wide array of bikes, from simple kids bikes to high-end road or mountain machines, as well as most electric bikes. I serve as official technical support for the annual Ironman World Triathlon Championships in Hawai’i, as well as local rides like the Santa Fe Century and Roll Massif, and take pride in offering first-rate service. Here in Santa Fe I enjoy mountain biking regularly and have deep knowledge in servicing all the suspension components that allow you to ride with confidence and control.
